Results of the research are given out through on-line research papers, publications and events; to some other specific projects are dedicated web-pages.Environmental global governance: perspectives and dilemmas - 2009
Description: The research aims to study the development of environmental global governance, providing recognition and a critical analysis of the supranational projects and institutions proposed in the international arena by different players (States, international, regional and sub-regional organisations and NGOs). Above all, the focus of attention, monitoring with reports on the state of the art, will concern two fundamental and interconnected topics: climate change and energy. In this context, the role of the European Union as an environmental player will be considered, along with the actions of the other relevant players, in order to face the challenge of fighting global warming, building a worldwide green economy and preparing a world ecological conversion as the contribution to a common strategy to jointly reaffirm respect for the environment, the defence of human rights, the effectiveness of intergenerational equity, social justice, prevention of war and peace-building.
Strategies for innovation and development of pharma-biotech clusters: which model of innovation for Piedmont? - 2009
Description: This research is part of a long-term project, the aim of which is to analyse European policies for innovation, focusing on active clusters in the field of biotechnology, a strategic sector for economic and social growth in Europe. The main aim of this research is to guide the discussion with reference to the situation in Piedmont, which has a growing interest in the development of research and innovation. This will identify possible lines of development of a new regional policy in areas of highly innovative sectors and enable a possible long-term collaboration between Piedmont and France.

For a Peaceful Foreign European Policy - 2008
Scientific coordinator: Giorgio Grimaldi
Description: European Civil Peace Corps and Other Proposals and Projects of the European Parliament and of the European Civil Society. This research aims to analyse the characteristics and potentialities of the projects proposed by the European Parliament (EP) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) engaged in conflict prevention, conflict management and peace-building and co-ordinated at European level, in order for the European Union to be able to face the global challenges indicated in the European Union's Strategy for Security, A Secure Europe for A Better World, approved in December 2003. By researching the limits and opportunities of the present European Foreign and Security Policy and the European Defence Policy in the EU, the study aims to promote resources and experiences for a stronger civil action in connection with democratisation and the EU institutional reform as well as the development of a multidimensional and global approach to human security in partnership with other international organisations (e.g. UN, OSCE).
The International European Movement (EM) and Gaullist France from 1958 to 1969 - 2008
Scientific coordinator: Paolo Caraffini
Description: For over a decade, from General De Gaulle's return to power in 1958 (in the wake of events in Algeria) until he resigned in 1969, the process of European integration was strongly influenced by France's Fifth Republic. This was undoubtedly due to the central role traditionally occupied by Paris in European matters, but also the dynamism of the new French leadership driven by the desire to restore the country to its position as a significant and incisive player in European and international politics. The aim of this research project is to examine the stance taken by the International European Movement (EM) ahead of the Europeanist initiatives adopted by the Gaullist regime.
